Answer
The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland has issued a total of 23 enforcement notices to Councils in the last five years. The notices are set out in the table below.
| Council | Improvement Notice | Prohibition Notice | Total |
| Ards | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| Belfast City | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| Carrickfergus | 6 | 2 | 8 |
| Coleraine | 2 | 0 | 2 |
| Craigavon | 2 | 5 | 7 |
| Fermanagh | 2 | 0 | 2 |
| Larne | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| North Down | 0 | 1 | 1 |
| Total | 15 | 8 | 23* |
* The recipient of an enforcement notice may appeal to an Industrial Tribunal within 21 days of service of the notice. Therefore the table does not include notices served which are still within the appeal period.
