Answer

I meet regularly with Assembly Colleagues, including Minister Attwood in the Ministerial Road Safety Group, to discuss all aspects of road safety including road safety for cyclists. Specifically, my Department’s Travelwise team is working with the Department of the Environment’s Road Safety team to produce a joint publication aimed at providing advice for cyclists about safely interacting with other road users.

My Department’s Roads Service is committed to providing safer roads for all road users, particularly vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists. This is achieved, by utilising a range of measures, including road safety education and engineering, traffic calming and enhancement of the pedestrian and cycling network.
