Answer
I can advise the Member that my Department’s Roads Service currently has 65 automatic cycle counters installed across the National Cycle Network. These cycle counters are generally installed on dedicated cycle paths, some of which are part of key arterial routes, for example, Hawthornden Way, Belfast. My Department’s Roads Service and Travelwise NI continue to work with third sector organisations such as Sustrans, Sport N.I and the N.I Cycling Forum alongside many other local groups to identify the need for further cycle counter sites.
