Answer

Our officials are preparing the comprehensive documentation required to begin the recruitment process for a new Commissioner for Victims and Survivors. This documentation will be submitted for our consideration shortly and will allow us to progress to the next stage of the recruitment exercise. As the process will run in compliance with the Code of Practice for Ministerial Public Appointments it may take up to six months to complete.

In the meantime, we recognise that continuity is important for victims and survivors, so we have ensured that interim arrangements are in place in the Commission to allow the provision of continued support for victims and survivors. The Victims and Survivors Service will continue to deliver its services to victims and survivors, which are tailored to individual needs.
