To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to detail (i) the source of the funding for (a) staffing; (b) physical port infrastructure for administering post-Brexit checks on goods; and (ii) whether he consulted the relevant bodies providing funding before suspending construction on infrastructure at Northern Ireland ports.

Her Majesty’s Treasury agreed to provide additional funding to the Northern Ireland Executive in line with the commitments set out in The UK’s Approach to the Northern Ireland Protocol, published on 20 May 2020.
My officials are currently engaging with the relevant officials in the Department of Finance and Her Majesty's Treasury as we seek to ensure funding is in place to implement this project.
