To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, with regards to draft licences issued for the proposed Islandmagee Gas Caverns storage project, to outline the procedure or pre-conditions that are to be met by the applicant to trigger the grant of a final licence.

The Department issued drafts of the consents it proposes to issue for a short period to enable the applicant, Islandmagee Energy Ltd, to raise any minor matters.

Islandmagee Energy Ltd subsequently indicated a desire to move to final licences. These final licences were issued to Islandmagee Energy Limited on 5 November 2021.

The consents contain conditions which Islandmagee Energy Ltd must adhere to. These will be publically available on the DAERA website and on the relevant Public Registers.
