Answer
Challenges around racial and social cohesion are being experienced globally. While issues around housing and local services are separate, it is important to state that the Executive strongly condemns sectarianism and racism in any form.
Following the disorder in June, we moved quickly to ensure that £220,000 in additional funding was made available through the District Council Good Relations Programme, to help support racial and social cohesion here.
Utilising the expertise and local knowledge of council officers helped to ensure that funding was targeted in areas that would benefit most from such interventions. Detail on specific projects funded to date are available on request.
